The secret to the EL196E’s silent running is no secret: a fully-insulated cabinet and a Power Saver constant torque motor. The Power Saver motor in the EL196E provides more consistent airflow for improved comfort while operating more efficiently than a standard motor.

This furnace does not meet the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1111 NOx emission limit (14 ng/J) and cannot be installed in the SCAQMD.

If installed in San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) only: This furnace does not meet the SJVAPCD Rule 4905 NOx emission limit (14 ng/J), and thus is subject to a mitigation fee of up to $450.
