Noisy Fan
October 01, 2024Bought this new furnace while upgrading my AC in August. Haven't run the furnace yet but the variable speed/modulating fan has a whine that is maddening. It sounds like a jet is taking off outside when it speeds up or slow down and can be heard above any sound from the air movement. We read about these units being so quiet that we would not know it wa on .. that is not true. Installer has come back out and replaced the fan motor but that has not helped. I have asked to have Lennox come out and confirm that we should expect this noise in their latest and greatest unit.

Secondary Heat Exchanger Issue
April 30, 2024I had a SLP99UHV furnace installed 2 1/2 years ago. Found out that the Secondary Heat Exchanger is leaking. Based on its location, the labour involved to replace this Heat Exchanger is time consuming and thereby costly. Lennox will replace the part but the labour costs are my responsibility. Based on what I have read, this appears to be a problem with other people. I spoke to Customer service at Lennox and requested that I speak to someone technical who can answer some basic questions: 1) What can I do from my end to prevent this from happening again - assuming that there are some things I can do from my end? 2) What happens if the Exchanger leaks again? I esssentially want some reassurance that this will not reoccur and that I am not faced with another labour bill (~$1700 C). I got nowhere with that request and was told to chat with the folks who installed the unit. The folks who installed the furnace checked to ensure that the exchanger was installed properly. It was. I am not a person to write these kinds of reports, but I am disappointed because I was reassured that this was a quality product.
